SISTERS UNITED NOW
COMMUNITY-BASED INTERVENTION
The Sisters United Now (SUN) project is a culturally infused eight-week intervention designed to teach awareness and management of anxiety and stress in black and biracial adolescent girls age 12-15.
Psychosocial measures of anxiety, stress, self-esteem, mindset, racial identity, and ethnic identity. Participants data reported positive responses to the intervention, with trends of lower stress levels post-intervention. Additionally, participants have consistently shared how the intervention has changed their behavior, attitude, helped in stressful home situations, promoting calmness and focus.
